Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace Yeovil is seeking a CNC Turner for the night shift to manufacture high-precision aerospace components from start to finish. You will set and run bespoke work on 2-axis CNC lathes, perform OCQ checks, and ensure parts meet exacting tolerances and documentation standards.

The role requires experience with small components, safety-critical expectations, and PC literacy to support job-related systems.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture parts from start to finish on centre lathes to aerospace specifications.
• Set and run bespoke work on 2-axis CNC lathes.
• Perform OCQ checks, including stamping for quality per standards.
• Interpret drawings and follow process layouts and documentation.
• Maintain on-time delivery by completing work to plan and standard.
• Support continuous improvement in a lean environment.
• Measure components with Vernier, micrometer, gauges.
• Adhere to Health & Safety practices and company processes.
• Collaborate in a team and report to the Team Lead.

CNC Turner (Skilled/Indentured Skilled) - Night Shift

Location: Yeovil (Honeywell Aerospace)
Shifts: 34.5 hours per week - Sun 22:00-07:00; Mon-Fri 00:00-07:00
Pay: £16.13 - £24.20 per hour (dependent on experience)

What you'll be doing:

• Manufacture parts from start to finish on centre lathes to aerospace specifications
• Set and run bespoke work on 2-axis CNC lathes
• Perform OCQ (Operator Control of Quality) checks, including stamping to confirm assembly quality to Honeywell and customer standards
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow process layout and documentation procedures
• Maintain on-time delivery by completing work to plan and to the required standard
• Work effectively in a lean environment and support continuous improvement
• Measure and verify components using hand measuring equipment (e.g., Vernier, micrometer, thread and plug gauges)
• Follow strict Health & Safety practices and company processes at all times
• Work collaboratively in a team environment and report to the Team Lead

• Experience working with small components and high-precision work
• CNC turning or related machining experience (manual turning welcome)
• A strong understanding of safety-critical aerospace expectations
• PC literacy to support job-related systems and documentation
• A quality-first mindset with consistent measurement and verification
• Teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to use initiative
• Desirable: Mazatrol/Mazak experience
• Desirable: Engineering apprenticeship (but not essential)

• Training will be provided as required (e.g., PC skills, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, 5S, HOS principles and general Health & Safety)
