Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace Yeovil is hiring a CNC Turner (Skilled/Indentured Skilled) for the night shift. The role covers turning and setting on centre lathes to aerospace specs, with OCQ checks and tight quality controls.

You will interpret drawings, maintain on-time delivery, and work in a lean environment with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork in Yeovil.

• Desirable Mazatrol/Mazak experience.
• Desirable engineering apprenticeship is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture parts from start to finish on centre lathes to aerospace specifications.
• Set and run bespoke work on 2-axis CNC lathes.
• Perform OCQ (Operator Control of Quality) checks and stamping.
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow procedures.
• Maintain on-time delivery by completing work to plan and standard.
• Work in lean environment and support continuous improvement.
• Measure components using Vernier, micrometer, gauges.
• Follow Health & Safety practices and company processes.
• Collaborate in a team and report to Team Lead.

CNC Turner (Skilled/Indentured Skilled) - Night Shift

Location: Yeovil (Honeywell Aerospace)
Shifts: 34.5 hours per week - Sun 22:00-07:00; Mon-Fri 00:00-07:00
Pay: £16.13 - £24.20 per hour (dependent on experience)

What you'll be doing:

• Manufacture parts from start to finish on centre lathes to aerospace specifications
• Set and run bespoke work on 2-axis CNC lathes
• Perform OCQ (Operator Control of Quality) checks, including stamping to confirm assembly quality to Honeywell and customer standards
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow process layout and documentation procedures
• Maintain on-time delivery by completing work to plan and to the required standard
• Work effectively in a lean environment and support continuous improvement
• Measure and verify components using hand measuring equipment (e.g., Vernier, micrometer, thread and plug gauges)
• Follow strict Health & Safety practices and company processes at all times
• Work collaboratively in a team environment and report to the Team Lead
