Job summary

Kurt J. Lesker Company Ltd in Hastings, East Sussex, is seeking a CNC Team Leader to drive manufacturing excellence. You will oversee complex CNC milling operations, read and write CNC programs, and mentor machinists across shifts. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment. An engineering qualification and strong CAM/software skills are required.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in mechanical/manufacturing tech.
• Machining experience on CNC equipment or CNC solid modeling (turning/milling).
• Delcam or MasterCam programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex machining on CNC milling machines and read G-code.
• Mentor employees to resolve complex machining problems.
• Write and edit CNC programs to meet production requirements ensuring cost & quality.
• Set and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
• Read and understand technical drawings.
• Produce quality parts in a timely manner and verify conformance with specs.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineering to improve processes.
• Provide hands-on leadership across shifts within the CNC department.
• Maintain a safe working environment and report safety concerns.
• Support production board by monitoring daily performance.
• Assist with performance reviews and feedback to the team.
• Identify training needs to enhance team skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
