Job summary

Kurt J. Lesker Company Ltd, a global leader in advanced manufacturing, seeks a CNC Team Leader for our European Headquarters in St. Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. Lead CNC programming, set up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines, and mentor machinists to deliver precision parts.

You will require HNC/HND or equivalent, strong CAM experience (Delcam/MasterCam), and proven leadership. We offer a competitive salary, 40 hours per week, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology or equivalent.
• Proven machining experience on CNC equipment or using CNC solid modeling.
• Delcam or MasterCam programming experience.
• Extensive knowledge of machine functions (G code, M code, Offsets, etc).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex machining operations on CNC milling machines and read and understand G-code.
• Mentor fellow employees to resolve complex machining problems.
• Write and edit complex CNC programs to support production requirements providing optimum manufacturing cost and quality.
• Set and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
• Read and understand Technical drawings.
• Produce quality parts in a timely manner.
• Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Collaborate with machinists, Engineering, and Product/Production Management to solve problems and improve processes.
• Provide hands-on leadership/training for all team members across shifts for all stages and processes within the CNC department.
• Establish and maintain a safe working environment; report safety concerns and preventative measures.
• Support the Production Board by monitoring daily performance/execution to routed hours and on-time delivery.
• Assist management with employee performance reviews and feedback.

• Identify and implement necessary team training and development to enhance and/or maintain team skill levels
• Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring:

Required

• HNC/HND (Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology) or equivalent experience in a related field
• Proven machining experience on CNC equipment or using CNC solid modeling (turning and milling)
• Delcam or MasterCam Programming experience
• Extensive knowledge of machine functions (G code, M code, Offsets, etc)
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Preferred

• Lean Manufacturing
• Previous experience in leadership position
• Previous manufacturing experience in the vacuum industry
