Job summary

Norbar Torque Tools Ltd. in Banbury is seeking a skilled CNC Sliding Head Machinist for our day shift to set up and operate Citizen sliding head lathes and produce precision components.

The role requires reading drawings with GD&T, programming and editing CNC programs, and maintaining quality while collaborating with Production Engineering and Quality Control. A proactive, independent worker will thrive in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Citizen Sliding Head machines to manufacture batches of precision components.
• Inspect components against engineering drawings using measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and uphold housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with Production Engineering, Quality Control, and Shift Management to troubleshoot issues and improve efficiency.

Job Type: Days based, Perm

Location: Banbury

Hours: 7am-5:15pm Mon-Thurs

Pay: £47,000 - £49,860 DOE

Norbar Torque Tools Ltd., the world leading torque tool manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Machinist to support our day shift. The ideal candidate will have a passion for precision engineering, excellent technical expertise, and a proactive mindset to contribute to our continued success.

Key responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC Citizen Sliding Head machines to manufacture batches of precision components efficiently.
• Inspect components against engineering drawings using various measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly) and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with Production Engineering, Quality Control, and Shift Management to troubleshoot issues and achieve optimal efficiency.

Who we’re looking for:

• Proven knowledge of CNC programming with the ability to read and edit programs as required.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, including knowledge of GD&T.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proven capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
