Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Mansfield is recruiting an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist. The role involves setting and operating Citizen or Star sliding head machines to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances, with reading of engineering drawings and tooling offsets.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CNC Sliding Head Machinist with ability to set and operate sliding head machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
• Experience performing quality inspections with precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC sliding head machines (Citizen/Star).
• Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
• Read drawings and perform tooling changes and offsets.
• Carry out quality inspections and ensure parts meet standards.
• Identify improvements to machining efficiency and maintain health and safety.

The Role

• Setting and operating CNC sliding head machines, including Citizen or Star
• Manufacturing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out tooling changes, offsets and machine adjustments
• Conducting quality inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Ensuring components meet required quality standards
• Identifying opportunities to improve machining efficiency

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a CNC Sliding Head or CNC Sliding Head Machinist
• Previous experience with Citizen or Star sliding head machines
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Confident using measuring equipment
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Experience within precision engineering or aerospace would be advantageous
