Job summary

Pertemps Wolverhampton are recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer to join a busy manufacturing environment in Wolverhampton. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC machinery to produce high-precision components from engineering drawings and specifications.

The candidate will use Hurco machining centres, read drawings, select tooling, and conduct first-off inspections to ensure components meet defined tolerances and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter / Programmer within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
• Experience using Hurco machines and WinMax conversational controls.
• Experience with Fanuc CNC controls and G-code programming.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
• Knowledge of tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds and precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC milling machines, including Hurco machining centres.
• Create, edit and prove CNC programmes, selecting the correct tooling, speeds, feeds and work holding.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to manufacture components to required specifications.
• Carry out first-off inspections and use precision measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met.

Pay Rate: £15.38 - £16.83 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:00

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC milling machines, including Hurco machining centres.
• Create, edit and prove CNC programmes, selecting the correct tooling, speeds, feeds and work holding.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to manufacture components to required specifications.
• Carry out first-off inspections and use precision measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter / Programmer within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
• Strong CNC milling experience, ideally with 3, 4 or 5-axis machines.
• Experience using Hurco machines and WinMax conversational controls.
• Experience with Fanuc CNC controls and G-code programming.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
• Knowledge of tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds and precision measuring equipment.
