Job summary

Cosworth in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled CNC Setter Operator to manufacture crankshafts and camshafts for high-performance automotive and aerospace clients. You will set up and run multiple CNC machines, read and edit NC programs, and perform rigorous quality checks to ensure parts meet exact specifications.

You will work to industry standards, maintain tooling and equipment, and participate in continuous improvement across methods, processes and tooling.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical information and drawings.
• Experience using Multi Axis Mill/Turn machines beneficial.
• Experience using Milling Machines Lathes essential.
• Experience of Fanuc Controls.
• Ability to problem solve and see errors in NC code.
• Knowledge of work-holding methods, tool selection, cutting tool parameters and inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP and Seiki DNC software; knowledge of Zoller measuring equipment.
• Basic numerical and computer skills; proactive about continuous improvement.
• Automotive/Aerospace engineering background preferred; knowledge of engine components.

Responsibilities

• To manufacture camshafts and crankshafts for Automotive and Aerospace customers.
• To set and operate machines safely, complying with Health and Safety regulations.
• To produce components to the company standard in a cost-efficient manner.
• To be familiar with all systems and procedures of the job.
• Ensure information is transferred between shifts and team members as required.
• Notify Team Leader or Maintenance when problems occur and keep relevant people informed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and suggest method/process/tooling improvements.
• Highlight problems promptly to the Team Leader/Shift Leader.
• Maintain a clean, tidy working area and comply with company procedures.
• Support UK GDPR compliance by following policy and best practice.
