Job summary

DR Newitt Engineering & Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Setter Operator to join their team. The role offers a permanent position with a structured shift pattern and modern CNC machinery, including Fanuc controls.

You will set and operate CNC machines, interpret drawings, and conduct first-off inspections to ensure components meet precise specifications. Strong attention to detail and a flexible approach to shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC machinery to drawing specifications.
• Proficient with Fanuc-controlled machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC machinery.
• Working predominantly with Fanuc-controlled machines.
• Setting tools, offsets and cutting parameters.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections.
• Using measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.
• Making tool and offset adjustments where required.
• Changing tooling and carrying out routine machine adjustments.
• Working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Identifying and reporting any machining or quality issues.
