Job summary
Stockport Nub News is seeking an experienced CNC Setter in Stockport to join the production team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will set and operate CNC turning machinery, install tooling and fixtures, and adjust offsets to maintain high quality and efficiency.
The ideal candidate has CNC setting/operating experience, preferably with Fanuc controls, and the ability to read engineering drawings. The role offers ongoing training and clear progression within a supportive manufacturing
Qualifications
- Experience setting and operating CNC machinery in manufacturing.
- Preferably familiar with Fanuc controls and reading drawings.
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds relevant to mechanical engineering.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC turning machinery.
- Install and set tooling, workholding fixtures.
- Adjust tool geometry and wear offsets.
- Perform routine tool changes to maintain quality.
- Read engineering drawings and production docs to work accurately.
- Identify machining issues and resolve within parameters.
- Record adjustments and process changes accurately.
- Support continuous improvement and safe working environment.
