Job summary

The Job People Limited in Stone, Staffordshire, is seeking an experienced CNC Setter Operator (Milling) to produce precision-machined components for aerospace, automotive, F1, nuclear, marine and high-spec engineering sectors. You will set and operate 5-axis milling machines and interpret engineering drawings using Fanuc controls.

This permanent position offers 40 hours per week, with overtime regularly available.

Qualifications

• Experience with setting and operating 5 axis or 4 axis or 3 axis CNC Milling machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with using various in-process gauging and inspection equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in a high-specification engineering environment.

CNC Setter Operator - Milling

Permanent Position

£17.00 to £22.00 per hour - depending on experience - overtime is also regularly available

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced CNC Setter Operator (Milling) looking to further develop and advance their career. Working across the aviation, automotive, F1, nuclear, marine, and high-specification engineering sectors, you will be involved in producing precision-machined components to the highest quality standards.

Must have experience with setting and operating 5 axis or 4 axis or 3 axis CNC Milling machines

Hours of Work

Monday to Thursday 7am to 4pm and Friday 7am to 1pm

Based in Stone, Staffordshire

Working in a high end manufacturing and production environment

Experienced in machining complex components from a variety of metals

Duties of a CNC Setter Operator

• Set and operate CNC machinery to produce designated components.
• Set part datums using probing cycles and manual methods
• Able to enter and change tool lengths and datum positions as and when needed.
• Ensure all equipment used is in calibration and good operating condition

Experience required for a CNC Setter Operator

• Milling
• Previous work experience on 5 axis, 4 axis or 3 axis CNC Machines
• Set and operate CNC using Fanuc control
• Relevant experience within Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
• Understanding of Engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of control systems
• Change tools, know speeds and feeds
• Ability to use a variety of in process gauging and inspection equipment
• Machining experience
• Experienced in machining complex components from a variety of metals
• Good communicator, written and verbal
• Working in a manufacturing and production background

You will also have the opportunity to further your personal growth and development in the following areas:

• Gain experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain and Siemens controls.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) training.
• Gain experience with machining a variety of materials.
• CAD/CAM - cam systems including Fusion and Hypermill.
• Work within a 6S & continuous improvement environment.

Details for a CNC Setter Operator

• £17.00 to £22.00 per hour depending on experience plus regular overtime available
• Days - 7am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 1pm Friday (40 hours)
• Immediate start for the right candidate
