Candidate should have Mazak machining centre experience and be adept at reading engineering drawings, with a strong eye for precision and quality. On-site role with good relocation prospects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce small-batch aerospace components from drawings.
• Maintain tight tolerances and meet production timescales.
• Set up various machine tools for operators as required.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect components.
• Ensure parts are protected and prepared for transit.
• Mentor new staff and complete manufacturing paperwork accurately.
• Uphold quality, safety and housekeeping standards across the process.

Location: Southend-on-Sea

Salary: £30,000 – £36,500 per annum

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am–1:00pm

A world-leading aerospace component manufacturer is looking for a CNC Setter Operator Miller to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Milling professional with strong Mazak machining experience, who can confidently work from engineering drawings and manufacture high-quality, small-batch aerospace components to tight tolerances.

The Role

As a CNC Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating milling machinery and producing components accurately and efficiently to customer and engineering requirements.

Duties

• Setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture small-batch components from engineering drawings
• Working to tight tolerances and agreed production timescales
• Setting a variety of machine tools for operators when required
• Using a wide range of precision measuring equipment to inspect components
• Ensuring manufactured components are correctly protected and prepared for transit
• Mentoring and supporting new members of staff where required
• Completing all manufacturing paperwork accurately and correctly
• Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping throughout the manufacturing process

Skills & Experience

• Extensive Milling experience is essential
• Proven skills setting and operating CNC machines
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
• Confident using precision measuring equipment
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Mazak machining centre experience would be highly advantageous
• Ability to work confidently with both Metric and Imperial measurements
• Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred
• GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English would be advantageous
• Ideally, you will have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant additional training courses
