Job summary

Start People Ltd in Burnley is seeking an experienced CNC Setter to join a busy die-casting/manufacturing site, focusing on setting, tooling, quality and production to ensure parts meet tolerances.

The role involves loading programs, setting offsets, first-offs, and supporting operators, with a day shift Monday-Thursday 6:00am-3:00pm and a £32,000 salary, offering an established environment and opportunities to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Setter in a metal fabrication/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machines including milling machines, lathes and machining centres.
• Set tooling, offsets, fixtures and cutting parameters.
• Load and adjust CNC programmes as required.
• Carry out first-off inspections and adjust as needed.
• Maintain setting sheets and production records.
• Support operators and ensure smooth production flow.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
