Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is seeking a CNC Room Team Leader in Leicester to guide a small team and operate CNC routers and laser-cutting machines, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.

You will schedule workloads, ensure on-time delivery, maintain safety standards and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC routers and/or laser-cutting machines.
• Experience leading or supervising a manufacturing or engineering team.
• Proficient in CAD/CAM software to create programmes and toolpaths.
• Strong understanding of quality control and working to engineering drawings.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Committed to maintaining high health and safety standards.
• Experience with EnRoute and/or LightBurn software would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and coordinate a small team of CNC programmers and machine operators.
• Schedule workloads and manage machining capacity to meet production deadlines.
• Set and operate CNC routers and laser-cutting machines.
• Create and edit CNC programmes and toolpaths using CAD/CAM software.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure all components meet customer specifications.
• Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workflow.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement practical solutions.
• Ensure a safe, organised and compliant working environment.
• Support, train and develop team members where required.

Our client is a leading manufacturer specialising in point-of-sale manufacturing. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced CNC Room Team Leader to join their busy production team and take responsibility for overseeing CNC machining operations within their Acrylic Department.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for managing a small team while setting and operating CNC routers and laser-cutting machines to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances.

Working in a fast-paced production environment, you will play a key role in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and on time, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
