Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Leicester seeks a CNC Turner Supervisor to oversee day-to-day CNC turning operations, support and supervise the production team, and ensure components are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

You will play a key role in organising workloads, monitoring production, supporting machine operators and setters, resolving manufacturing issues and ensuring production targets and customer requirements are achieved.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a CNC turning / machining environment, ideally in a supervisory or senior position.
  • Experience supervising, leading or supporting a production team.
  • Good knowledge of CNC turning processes, machining principles and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of CNC machine setting, tooling, tool changes and offsets.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to organise workloads and prioritise production requirements.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety and quality standards.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to support the team on the shop floor.
  • Reliable, organised and committed to maintaining high standards of production.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the CNC turning team to ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Oversee the setting and operation of CNC turning machines, including tool changes and offsets.
  • Organise daily workloads and allocate jobs to CNC setters and operators.
  • Monitor machine operation and production progress, making adjustments where required.
  • Ensure components are produced accurately and to drawing, specification and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
  • Carry out and oversee quality checks and ensure finished components meet required standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machining and production issues to minimise downtime.
  • Support CNC setters and operators with technical and manufacturing problems.
  • Monitor production performance, quality and delivery times.
  • Train, mentor and support team members to improve skills and performance.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive, professional and team-focused working environment.

Job Role: CNC Turner Supervisor

Location: Leicester, LE2 (Commutable from Wigston, Oadby, Beaumont Leys, Blaby, Enderby, Market Harborough and surrounding areas)

Pay Rate: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour

Shift: Days - Monday to Thursday, 7am to 5:15pm

About the Role
