Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a client near Mirfield, West Yorkshire, for an experienced CNC Programmer/Turner. The role covers programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to produce precision components from drawings, with emphasis on quality and on-time delivery.

You will work from engineering drawings, select tooling and processes, and contribute to a clean, safe environment within a busy subcontract workshop.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Strong reading of engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Proficient with Fanuc controls and cutting tools.
• Able to use micrometers, verniers and bore gauges for inspection.
• Experience with a range of engineering materials.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC lathes.
• Manufacture components from drawings with precision.
• Read and interpret drawings, tolerances and specifications.
• Produce from one-off to batch production.
• Write and prove CNC programs at the machine.
• Select tooling, speeds and feeds and machining methods.
• Set tools, offsets and work holding independently.
• Inspect own work with measuring equipment.
• Meet production and delivery targets.
• Communicate issues to technical/production teams.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Follow quality procedures and health & safety requirements.
