Job summary

Trinity Personnel is recruiting for an experienced CNC Programmer, Setter & Operator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. You will program, set and operate 2-axis Fanuc lathes, edit CNC programs at the machine, and ensure components meet tight tolerances with first-off inspections.

The role requires reading drawings, setting tooling and datum positions, and maintaining traceable documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems.
• Experience with 2-axis CNC turning machines.
• Ability to programme and edit using G-code and M-code.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate 2-axis CNC lathes using Fanuc control systems.
• Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes at the machine using G-code and M-code.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and production documentation.
• Set up machines, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, tool offsets and datum positions.
• Prove out new programmes and carry out first-off inspections before production runs.
• Manufacture precision components in both batch and one-off production runs.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to offsets and programmes where necessary.
• Carry out in-process inspections using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and bore gauges.
• Ensure components meet specified tolerances, quality standards and surface finish requirements.
• Identify and resolve machining issues, reporting any faults or quality concerns promptly.
• Complete production and quality documentation to maintain accurate traceability.
• Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance, keeping the work area clean, organised and safe.
• Work closely with colleagues across production, quality and warehouse departments to meet deadlines and production targets.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
