Job summary

Kurt J. Lesker Company Ltd is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer Machinist at our European Headquarters in St. Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex.

The role focuses on CNC programming, rigorous machining, and CAM software usage within a team delivering high-precision components. The ideal candidate has ONC/HNC in Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology or equivalent, with experience in Delcam or MasterCam and strong G-code knowledge.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology or related field.
• Proven CNC machining/programming experience.
• Experience with Delcam or MasterCam programming.
• Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, offsets and machine functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex machining on CNC milling machines and read/understand G-code.
• Mentor fellow employees to resolve machining problems.
• Write and edit CNC programs to meet production requirements for cost and quality.
• Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
• Read technical drawings and ensure conformance of parts to specifications.
• Collaborate with machinists, engineering and production management to improve processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complex machining operations on CNC milling machines and read and understand G-code


• Mentor fellow employees to resolve complex machining problems


• Write and edit complex CNC programs to support production requirements providing optimum manufacturing cost and quality.


• Set and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis machines


• Read and understand Technical drawings


• Produce quality parts in a timely manner


• Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments.


• Collaborate with machinists, Engineering, and Product/Production Management to solve problems and improve processes.


• Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring:

Required

• ONC/HNC (Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology) or equivalent experience in a related field


• Proven machining experience on CNC equipment or using CNC solid modeling (turning and milling)


• Delcam or MasterCam Programming experience


• Extensive knowledge of machine functions (G code, M code, Offsets, etc)
