Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd. is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer for a contract role in Cambridge. You will program, set and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture high-precision components for aerospace and defence applications.

Reading drawings, inspecting in-process, and maintaining tight tolerances are essential. The position requires independent work, strong safety and quality standards, and the ability to collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Turner.
• Ability to independently programme, set and operate CNC lathes.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
• Experience machining complex components to tight tolerances.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Manufacturing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Making tooling and offset adjustments as required.

CNC Programmer
Location:Cambridge
Pay Rate: Up to £30.00 per hour Ltd
Job Type:Contract

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities – CNC Programmer

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Manufacturing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Essential Requirements – CNC Programmer

Desirable Experience – CNC Programmer

• Experience with Matsuura, Haas or Doosan machines.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Experience operating Twin-Spindle Lathes.
• Previous experience within the Aerospace or Defence sectors.
