Job summary

Owen Daniels in Northampton is seeking a Production Team Leader to oversee day-to-day shop floor operations, lead a 25-30 person team and ensure production targets are met with high quality and safety standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a manufacturing environment, with experience in Lean, 5S and CNC machining across milling, turning or grinding. Rotating shifts apply in a growing engineering business.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
• Previous experience of mentoring and supporting colleagues.
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality and Health & Safety.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with CNC machining, across milling, turning or grinding.
• Proven experience in a production environment, ideally within Automotive, Motorsport or other CNC engineering sectors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day shop floor operations, ensuring production runs efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.
• Lead and support a team of 25-30 employees, providing clear direction, coaching and effective communication.
• Promote a safe, compliant and positive working environment by maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, 5S, environmental responsibility, data protection and company procedures.
• Manage workloads, resources and materials to achieve production targets and deadlines.
• Identify and resolve operational issues while driving continuous improvement across the production environment.
