Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is supporting an established precision engineering manufacturer in South Wales to recruit a Production Team Leader for its machining operation. The role focuses on day-to-day shopfloor leadership of CNC processes, ensuring delivery, quality and safety while coordinating people and machines.

The successful candidate will lead continuous improvement, develop towards Production Manager, and benefit from structured development, mentoring, and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Strong CNC machining knowledge and precision manufacturing background.
• Experience leading or supervising people in manufacturing.
• Understanding CNC processes and machine shop operations.
• Ability to manage changing priorities, WIP and delivery requirements.
• Structured approach to problem solving and production issues.
• Clear communication with machinists, engineers and managers.
• Commitment to quality and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of the production plan across the shopfloor.
• Prioritise and sequence work to meet customer requirements.
• Manage WIP and remove bottlenecks to maintain output.
• Coordinate people and machine capacity to sustain delivery.
• Be the first point of contact for daily production issues.
• Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.
• Coach and support the production team.
• Communicate priorities and requirements clearly.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Maintain high standards of quality, health and safety.
• Develop towards Production Manager responsibilities.
