Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking a CNC Press Brake Operator (Setter/Operator) for a permanent role in the Nottingham area near Beeston. You will set and operate CNC press brakes, interpret drawings and produce high-quality folded components to tight tolerances.

Applicants should have experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar machinery, and be able to read drawings and select tooling. Overtime is paid at x1.5, with holidays and pension benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC press brakes.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Experience selecting tooling and programming or adjusting machine settings.
• Confident performing bending operations on a range of materials and thicknesses.
• Good understanding of fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC press brakes to produce folded components to tight tolerances.
• Interpret engineering drawings to produce accurate parts.
• Select tooling and adjust machine settings for correct bends.
• Ensure consistent quality and adherence to specifications.

Job description

The Basics:

• Role: CNC Press Brake Operator (Setter/Operator)
• Position: Permanent
• Location: Nottingham - near Beeston
• Hours: Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm
• Contracted hours per week: 40hrs
• Pay rates are dependent on experience: Up to £16 per hour - £33,280 per annum + Overtime = earnings of £40k and upwards achievable
• Overtime: Paid at x1.5
• Holidays/Benefits: 33 days, company pension, onsite parking, training and career development.

Overview:

Working in modern, fast paced sheet metal precision fabrication business we now require a CNC Press Brake Operator to join the team. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can confidently set and operate CNC press brakes, interpret engineering drawings and produce high‑quality folded components to tight tolerances.

• Experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar press brake machinery
• Experience setting and operating CNC press brakes.
• Confident carrying out bending operations on a range of materials and thicknesses.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Experience selecting tooling and programming or adjusting machine settings.
• Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
• Good understanding of fabrication processes.
• Commutable from: Nottingham, Long Eaton, Beeston and surrounding areas.
