Job summary

Workforce Group are recruiting on behalf of a leading precision engineering and manufacturing business for an experienced Press Brake Setter based in Nottingham. You will set and operate CNC press brakes, interpret engineering drawings, select tooling, and adjust machine parameters to produce high-quality folded sheet metal components.

The role requires attention to detail, tight tolerances, and a pride in craftsmanship within a supportive, modern manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Press Brake Setter or CNC Press Brake Operator.
• Experience setting and operating CNC Press Brake machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience selecting tooling and adjusting machine parameters.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC Press Brake machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each production run.
• Produce precision folded and formed sheet metal components.
• Carry out first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks.
• Measure components using verniers, angle gauges, rulers and other inspection equipment.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain tight tolerances throughout production.
• Work to production schedules while maintaining excellent quality standards.
• Report machine faults, production issues and quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures.
• Support the wider fabrication and production team where required.

Salary: £14.00 - £16.00 per hour (DOE)

Hours: 40 hours per week (Day Shift)

The Role

As a Press Brake Setter, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality precision components for a wide range of engineering and manufacturing industries.

You'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC press brakes, selecting the correct tooling, interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring every component meets exact customer specifications.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Previous experience as a Press Brake Setter or CNC Press Brake Operator
• Experience setting and operating CNC Press Brake machinery
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience selecting tooling and adjusting machine parameters
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
• Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances
• Excellent attention to detail and quality
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and within a team

Desirable

• Experience using Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar CNC machinery.
• Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
• Overhead crane or lifting equipment experience.
• General fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing experience.
