Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Leicester is seeking a skilled CNC Polishing Technician to join the Fabrication Team, manufacturing high-precision infrared and visible optical components.

You will set up and operate CNC polishing equipment and perform finishing operations to meet strict dimensional tolerances and surface quality specifications. The role requires deburring, linishing and grinding, with close attention to detail and precision.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC polishing equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Experience using precision measurement equipment.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC polishing machinery.
• Carry out deburring, linishing and grinding operations to achieve the required finish and component specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Adjust machine settings to achieve the required surface finish and accuracy.
• Carry out quality checks and identify surface defects.
• Handle, clean and inspect delicate optical components.
• Maintain accurate production records and product traceability.
• Follow quality, Health & Safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Support equipment maintenance and continuous improvement.
