CVI Infrared Optics, part of the IDEX MSS platform, seeks an experienced CNC Polishing Technician for its Fabrication Team in the UK. You will set up, operate and monitor CNC polishing equipment to produce high‑value infrared and visible optical components to exacting customer specifications.

You will read engineering drawings, select appropriate tools and compounds, and inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

Formación

• Proven experience operating CNC polishing equipment
• Experience manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs
• Experience using precision metrology equipment
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Knowledge of SOPs and controlled manufacturing documentation
• Understanding TPM concepts and maintenance practices
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Experience in clean manufacturing environments

Responsabilidades

• Set up and operate CNC polishing machines to manufacture precision optical components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, process docs and manufacturing instructions.
• Polish components to specified dimensional, form and surface finish requirements.
• Prepare tools, fixtures, consumables and polishing compounds.
• Adjust machine parameters to achieve required surface quality and process consistency.
• Perform in-process quality checks and visual inspections for defects.
• Ensure traceability and maintain clean, organized work area.
• Support TPM activities and assist with equipment maintenance.
