Job summary

AM Global in Leicester is seeking an experienced CNC Polishing Technician to join our Fabrication Team, manufacturing high-precision infrared and visible optical components to exacting customer specifications.

You will set up, operate and monitor CNC polishing equipment to achieve demanding surface finishes and strict dimensional tolerances, while maintaining cleanliness and traceability throughout production.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating CNC polishing equipment and precision polishing processes.
Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret specifications.
Experience using precision measurement tools and metrology equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to right-first-time manufacturing.
Experience with TPM and SOPs in a controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC polishing machines to manufacture precision optical components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and process documentation.
Polish components to specified dimensional and surface finish.
Select polishing tools, fixtures and consumables.
Monitor operations and adjust parameters for quality.
Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
Maintain cleanliness and traceability throughout manufacturing.
Report non-conformances and support TPM activities.
