Job summary

nmb-minebea in Lincoln is seeking CNC Operatives to set and run CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines (Okuma/Mazak/HAAS/XYZ). You must read engineering drawings and use standard measuring equipment.

This permanent role offers 37 hours per week on A/B shifts, with overtime; salary grades £21,979 to £28,541 depending on experience. NVQ in Engineering or equivalent required; GCSE English and Maths; company benefits include pension, health care, and parking.

Qualifications

• NVQ in Engineering manufacture or equivalent / Advanced Modern Apprenticeship.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) to grade C or above.
• Experience in a machining environment and reading drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines.
• Ensure parts meet drawing tolerances and are produced on time.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Assist with additional tasks as required by the area.
• Strive to meet production targets as directed by management.

Department: Milling/2 nd Ops

Location: Doddington Road, Lincoln, LN6 3RA

Reports to (Position) Performance Supervisor

Position type Permanent

Grade Grade 6 (£21,979) to Grade 11 (£28,541) – (TBC based on candidate experience)

Shift A/B Shift Rotation (see hours of work for details) – 37 hours a week

Position Description; Scope of the role;

Applicants should be able to read engineering drawings use standard measuring equipment and have an understanding of general machining principles (ideally manual and CNC).

Main Responsibilities and Activities

• Setting/operating CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines. (Okuma/Mazak/HAAS/XYZ)
• Ensure parts conform to drawing and are processed in allotted time
• Ensure all documentation is accurate
• Support the area in carrying out alternative tasks as required
• Achieving area targets as identified by production management

Experience and Qualifications

• Prepared to follow procedures
• NVQ in Engineering manufacture or equivalent / Advanced Modern Apprenticeship
• Previous experience of working in an engineering environment.
• English Language and Maths to GCSE grade C or above
• Computer Literate (ideally with a recognised qualification)
• Experience in the use of standard measurement equipment.

Hours of work

Overtime available when required

A Shift Monday to Thursday 6am to 1:35pm

No Premium Friday 6am to 12:45pm

B Shift Monday to Thursday 1:25pm to 9:05pm

20% Premium Friday 12:35pm to 7pm
