Job summary

nmb-minebea in Lincoln seeks a skilled grinder to read engineering drawings and set up/operate CNC O-D, I-D and track grinding machines, ensuring parts meet drawings and are produced on time.

The role requires NVQ in Engineering or equivalent and GPA English/Maths GCSE, plus good teamwork. 37-hour week with A/B shift rotation and overtime opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Able to read engineering drawings and follow procedures.
• Experience with CNC O-D, I-D and track grinding.
• English language and maths to GCSE grade C or above.

Responsibilities

• Set/operate Manual and CNC grinding machines.
• Multi manning machines.
• Ensure parts conform to drawing and are processed in the allotted time.
• Ensure documentation is accurate.
• Support area with alternative tasks as required.
• Achieve area production targets.

Grade Grade 8 (£27,842) to Grade 14 (£35,381) – (TBC based on candidate experience)

Shift A/B Shift Rotation (see hours of work for details) – 37 hours a week

Position Description; Scope of the role;

Applicants should be able to read engineering drawings use standard measuring equipment and have an understanding of general machining principles. Tasks will include setting and operating CNC O-D, I-D, Manual and track grinding machines.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

• Setting/operating Manual and CNC grinding machines and carrying out manual processes.
• Multi manning machines
• Ensure parts conform to drawing and are processed in the allotted time
• Ensure documentation is accurate
• Support the area in the carrying out alternative tasks as required
• Achieving area targets as identified by production

Experience and Qualifications

• Dependable, responsible contributor who’s committed to excellence and success

• Prepared to follow procedures
• NVQ in Engineering manufacture or equivalent / Advanced Modern Apprenticeship
• Previous experience of working in an engineering environment.
• English Language and Maths to GCSE grade C or above
• Computer Literate (ideally with a recognised qualification)
• Experience in the use of standard measurement equipment.

Hours of work

Overtime available when required.

A Shift Monday to Thursday 6am to 1:35pm

No Premium Friday 6am to 12:45pm

B Shift Monday to Thursday 1:25pm to 9:05pm

20% Premium Friday 12:35pm to 7pm
