Job summary

Optima UK is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Operator for our precision engineering team in Loughborough. You will produce high-quality components, read engineering drawings, and ensure tight tolerances while maintaining safety standards.

The role offers a Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:00 shift with Friday 07:00–13:00 finish, and a competitive pay rate of £16.00 per hour plus long-term career prospects through temp-to-perm progression.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating CNC milling machines.
• Experience with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Competent in the use of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Ensure all work meets quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Follow company procedures and health & safety guidelines.
