Optima UK in Loughborough is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Operator to join a precision engineering team. You will operate CNC mills, read drawings, and work toward high-quality components, with career progression into CNC setting and programming.

This temp-to-perm role offers on-the-job training, development opportunities, and an excellent work-life balance with a finish at 13:00 every Friday.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating CNC milling machines
• Experience with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Competent in the use of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc and Heidenhain controls
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using micrometers, verniers, and gauges
• Ensure all work meets quality requirements
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Follow company procedures and health & safety guidelines

Location: Loughborough

Shift: Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00, Friday: 07:00 - 13:00

Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Milling Operator to join a well-established manufacturing team in Loughborough. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist looking to further develop their skills and progress into CNC setting and programming.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality precision components while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
