Job summary

The Best Connection in Dartford is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join our precision engineering team. You will set, operate and program 3- and 5-axis milling machines to produce precision components, reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T.

The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) with a competitive salary of £35,360–£41,600, overtime opportunities, and on-site parking. A strong emphasis on tooling, inspections and safety guidance supports your continued development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines (3- and 5-axis).
• Strong comprehension of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with Heidenhain controls preferred.

We're currently looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join a busy precision engineering team based in Dartford.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting, operating and programming 3-axis & 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Manufacturing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances
• Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Selecting tooling and optimising machining processes
• Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections
• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines
• Experience with 3-axis & 5-axis machining centres
• Heidenhain control experience preferred
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
• Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances
• Proficient in using a variety of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges and DTIs
• Good knowledge of cutting tools, tooling applications and machining strategies
• Positive attitude and strong attention to detail
• Organised, punctual, reliable and safety-conscious
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
