Job summary

Precision Aerospace Engineering in Romford, Essex, is seeking an experienced CNC Miller/Setter/Operator to join a technically strong manufacturing environment. You will work on complex, high-precision aerospace components in a low-to-medium batch setting, taking parts from setup to finished product.

This hands-on role requires setting, proving and producing quality components rather than simple loading/unloading.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Miller/Setter/Operator.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar CNC controls.
• Good knowledge of tooling, workholding, offsets and machining techniques.
• Confident setting machines and producing components to specification.
• Experience within aerospace or precision engineering is advantageous.
• A genuine focus on quality and getting the job right first time.

Responsibilities

• Take components from setup through to finished part, working to tight tolerances.
• Set, operate and prove out CNC milling machines.
• Set tooling, fixtures, offsets and workholding.
• Machine complex components from engineering drawings.
• Work to aerospace-level tolerances and specifications.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection.
• Monitor tool condition, machine performance and component quality.
• Adjust offsets and cutting parameters where required.
• Complete production, inspection and quality documentation.
