Job summary

Hariley Solutions West Midlands in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced CNC VMC Setter to prepare and set Vertical Machining Centres for production.

You will read engineering drawings, install tooling, set offsets, and inspect parts with micrometers and gauges in a clean, safety-focused environment. This is a permanent, full-time role offering Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with a salary of £14.50–£19.00 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience setting VMC/CNC machining centres.
• Background in precision engineering/manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with machine set-ups, tooling changes and offset adjustments.
• Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centres (VMCs).
• Installing tooling and setting machine offsets.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Producing precision-machined components to required tolerances.
• Inspecting finished parts using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Identifying machining issues and making adjustments where necessary.
• Maintaining excellent quality standards while following all health and safety procedures.
• Keeping work area clean, organised and operating efficiently.

The Role

Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for preparing and setting Vertical Machining Centres to ensure production runs efficiently and components are manufactured to exact customer specifications.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

• Previous experience setting VMC/CNC machining centres.

• Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and measuring equipment.
