Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a CNC Miller (Setter / Operator) role in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The position is a permanent days-based role with optional overtime and an early finish every Friday.

You will set and operate CNC vertical milling machines, load fixtures and tooling, prepare and adjust cutting tools, and verify programs. A hands-on role in a precision engineering environment requires reading drawings and performing in-process inspections.

• Previous experience as a CNC Milling Setter and Operator.
• Able to read engineering drawings and use micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Understanding of CNC machining, tooling and working to tight tolerances.
• Commutable to Halifax

£16.00 per hour + Day Shift + Early Finish Friday + Overtime

Halifax, West Yorkshire

Are you a CNC Miller with experience setting and operating vertical CNC milling machines, looking for a permanent days-based role offering optional overtime and an early finish every Friday?

On offer is the opportunity to join an established precision engineering business manufacturing high-quality machined components. You will work as part of a production team within a hands‑on machining environment.

In this role, you will set and operate CNC vertical milling machines, load fixtures and vices, prepare and adjust cutting tools, and upload and verify existing CNC programs. You will also set tool offsets, make minor program adjustments where required and carry out in-process inspections using micrometers, verniers and gauges.

This role would suit an experienced CNC Milling Setter and Operator who can interpret engineering drawings.

THE ROLE

• Set and operate CNC vertical milling machines
