Job summary

Workforce Staffing Ltd in Bury is seeking a CNC Miller Programmer with Heidenhain experience for a permanent role. You will programme, set and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines and produce high-quality bespoke components to tight tolerances.

The position offers a 4-day week, paid 39 hours, and overtime opportunities with enhanced rates; benefits include on-site parking and an on-site canteen. A relevant apprenticeship is desirable but not mandatory.

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience machining one-off bespoke components and large fabrications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
• Machine one-off bespoke components, including large fabrications up to 4/5 metres in length.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and produce high-quality components to tight tolerances.
• Inspect finished components using standard measuring equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Work both independently and with the engineering team, supporting production needs.
• Overtime may be required, paid at standard hourly rate or enhanced rate.

Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer Heidenhain

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Bury

Salary: Up to £21.00 per hour DOE (depending on experience and skill level)

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00am 3:30pm
• Paid for 39 hours per week.
• Employees can either take their paid 15-minute tea break each day or work through it.
• Friday overtime available until 12:00pm, paid at 1.5x the hourly rate.
• Additional overtime is available and paid at 1.5x.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
• Machine one-off bespoke components, including large fabricated and framework parts up to 4 5 metres in length.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Produce high-quality precision components to fine tolerances.
• Inspect finished components using standard measuring equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Work independently and collaboratively within the engineering team.
• Support production requirements, including overtime when required.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience machining one-off bespoke components and large fabrications is highly desirable.
• Experience using standard inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
• A strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• A reliable, professional and self-motivated attitude.
• An engineering apprenticeship is desirable, although relevant experience is the overriding factor.
