Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join a well-established precision engineering business in Chesterfield. You will primarily work on Hurco milling machines to produce precision parts to tight tolerances.

Key responsibilities include setting, programming, and operating Hurco CNC mills, interpreting drawings, selecting tooling and feeds, and performing first-off/in-process inspections. A strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller with hands-on programming, setting, and operating experience.
• Strong familiarity and confidence working with Hurco control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of cutting tools, materials, and machining tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, reliable work ethic.

We are currently looking for an experienced and skilled CNC Miller to join a well-established precision engineering business based in Chesterfield. In this role, you will be working primarily on Hurco milling machines with Hurco control systems, producing precision parts to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set, operate, and program CNC Milling machines using Hurco controls.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
• Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds to optimise machining processes.
• Conduct first-off and in-process quality inspections using standard measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges).
• Make necessary off-set adjustments and carry out routine machine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller with hands-on programming, setting, and operating experience.
• Strong familiarity and confidence working with Hurco control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
