Job summary

The CNC Miller Programmer role is based near Milton Keynes. You will program, set and operate Vertical & Horizontal Machining Centres to produce precision-engineered components to tight tolerances, using Fanuc and similar controls. The kitamura Mori Seiki Bridgeport family of machines is in use.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming and setting machining centres.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls (or similar).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
• Experience producing small to medium batch quantities.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select appropriate tooling and machining strategies for efficient production.
• Produce precision components to tight tolerances and within quality standards.
• Carry out first-off inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Optimise CNC programs and setups to improve cycle times and reduce waste.
• Work collaboratively with production staff to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
• Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
