Job summary

Workforce Recruitment and Training is seeking an experienced CNC Miller Programmer, Setter Operator for its Gloucester workshop. The role focuses on programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc and ProtoTRAK controls, including 3-axis and 4-axis work in a precision environment.

You will handle XYZ 5000 3-axis and Doosan VMC machines, using OneCNC CAD/CAM software on predominantly low-batch components across aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical and metrology sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc/ProtoTRAK controls.
• Familiar with 3-axis and 4-axis machining on open-bed and VMC machines.
• Experience with OneCNC CAD/CAM software and subcontract milling across multiple industries.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc and ProtoTRAK controls.
• Work on XYZ 5000 3-axis milling machine with ProtoTRAK controls.
• Operate Doosan VMC milling machines.
• Program using OneCNC CAD/CAM software.
• Carry out both 3-axis and 4-axis machining.
• Produce predominantly low-batch work (1–100 components).
• Confidently operate open-bed milling machines and VMCs.
• Carry out conventional machining when required.

Our client is an established precision engineering company, incorporated in 1969, with over 45 years of industry experience and a team boasting more than 300 years of combined engineering knowledge.

Specialising in subcontract machining for the aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical and metrology industries, they are continuing to grow and are now looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller Programmer, Setter Operator to join their traditional workshop environment.

The Role

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines using Fanuc and ProtoTRAK controls.
• Working on an XYZ 5000 3-axis open-bed milling machine with ProtoTRAK controls.
• Operating Doosan VMC milling machines.
• Programming using OneCNC CAD/CAM software.
• Carrying out both 3-axis and 4-axis machining.
• Working on a variety of subcontract machining projects across multiple industries.
• Producing predominantly low-batch work, typically between 1 and 100 components.
• The successful candidate will be confident operating both open-bed milling machines and VMCs.
• Carrying out conventional machining when required.
