Job summary

Staffline is recruiting for a CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator based in North Bristol. The role focuses on programming, setting and operating CNC mills with Heidenhain controls to meet exact customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years in tool making or a related engineering environment, with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward safety and quality. On-site role with opportunity for ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace tool making advantageous.
• Engineering apprenticeship as a tool maker or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings to machine components to customer specifications.
• Set up and operate CNC mills using Heidenhain controls.
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace and follow safety rules.
• Report breakdowns and equipment faults to management.
• Support continuous improvement and departmental objectives.
• Assist with tooling buy-off, trials and inspections.

Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

Shift: Day shift Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm

Location: North Bristol

A great role with a fast-growing, established precision engineering business based in North Bristol. They are looking for a time-served CNC Miller to program, set and operate CNC Mills using Heidenhain controls.

Key Responsibilities - CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

• They will be required to accurately read and interpret technical drawings to correctly machine a variety of materials to customer specific processes and requirements, perform appropriate duties as assigned by management, maintain a safe and clean workspace and follow established safety rules and regulations.
• Report breakdowns, equipment faults and concerns to Management
• Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives
• Ensure all lost time, minor and trivial accidents are reported
• Undertake continuous training and development
• Support the engineering team with quotations if required
• Assist in tooling buy off and trials
• Ability to self-inspect own work using precision inspection tools and devices
• Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools

Qualifications & Requirements - CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

• Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
• Previous experience within the aerospace tool making industry advantageous
• Engineering apprenticeship as a tool maker or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years previous experience working in a tool making/engineering environment
• Experience working with an MRP system and following standard operating procedures / work order instructions
