Job summary

Prime Appointments is seeking a skilled CNC Miller in Basildon to produce precision components from drawings and set/operate CNC milling machines. You will work to tight tolerances, check your own work and maintain equipment in a safe, efficient manner.

Experience with 3- or 5-axis machining is essential; aerospace experience is preferred. The role requires attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and familiarity with measuring equipment.

• Fully skilled time served CNC setter/operator; certificates required.

Job Title CNC Miller

Town Basildon

Salary £37,599 + 33% shift allowance (£50,006pa)

Duties

• Produce precision components from drawings using CNC machines
• Produce accurate, high-quality components with maximum efficiency
• Set and operate CNC milling machines
• Work to tight tolerances and check your own work meets the required standard
• Work on your own initiative and understand all aspects of the manufacturing process
• Quality check all finished jobs
• Clean and maintain CNC machine and all associated equipment and machine area.
• Working to ISO 50001/14001/45001/9001 standards
• Commitment to continual improvement in manufacturing, quality, health, safety environmental, energy and sustainability management
• As part of your role you will be asked to support the Energy team and consider energy reduction and savings within the scope of your role leading to continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

• Fully skilled time served CNC setter/operator (certificates required)
• Must have experience of 3 or 5 Axis machines
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and follow written instructions
• Aerospace experience preferable
• Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment
• Computer literate
• Must have good attention to detail, good practical skills and excellent hand-to-eye coordination
• Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team in a safe manner
• Normal colour vision is required

Benefits

• £18.54ph = £37,599pa + 33% shift allowance
• Monday to Thursday 7:30pm to 16:30am, Friday 2:30pm to 7.30pm
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
