Job summary

Pertemps Bond in Dudley is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join a high precision heavy engineering operation. You'll set up and program your own CNC machines, produce large components to tight tolerances, and perform pre-inspection and in-process checks on your work.

You will interpret engineering drawings, select tooling and strategies, work safely with large components, and operate with autonomy to maintain quality.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC Milling machining experience.
• Experience working within a heavy engineering/manufacturing environment.
• The ability to set and program their own work.
• Strong drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience working to high-precision tolerances.
• Experience carrying out their own inspection and quality checks.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• Experience with heavy slinging, lifting and crane handling.
• A strong understanding of workshop safety and safe handling of large components.

Responsibilities

• Setting and programming your own CNC machines and components.
• Producing large, complex components to demanding tolerances.
• Carrying out your own pre-inspection and in-process checks.
• Working from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Selecting appropriate tooling, work-holding and machining strategies.
• Ensuring components meet the required dimensional and quality standards.
• Working safely and confidently with large and heavy components.
• Working unsupervised and taking responsibility for the quality of your own work.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
