Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in Dudley is seeking an experienced CNC Miller for a high-precision heavy engineering operation. You will set up and program your own CNC machines to produce large, complex components to exact tolerances, taking ownership from start to final inspection.

Working 8am–4.30pm with overtime, the role offers a competitive hourly salary and the opportunity to apply your expertise in a busy workshop.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC Milling machining experience.
• Experience in heavy engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to set and program their own work.
• Strong drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience working to high-precision tolerances.
• Experience carrying out their own inspection and quality checks.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up and program own CNC machines and components.
• Produce large, complex parts to demanding tolerances.
• Carry out pre-inspection and in-process checks.
• Work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling, work-holding and machining strategies.
• Ensure components meet dimensional and quality standards.
• Work safely with large and heavy components.
• Work unsupervised and take responsibility for own work quality.
