Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group Limited is seeking experienced CNC Millers for a permanent, full-time role in Middlesbrough. The position involves setting, programming and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components in a modern engineering environment.

Ideal candidates have a time-served apprenticeship, experience with CNC milling and the ability to read drawings, plus strong measurement and problem-solving skills. Ongoing training and clear career progression are offered.

Qualifications

  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines, vertical borers or horizontal borers.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to shift working.

Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC machines in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and company procedures.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards.
  • Program machines and prepare jaws, parallels, jigs and fixtures for production runs.
  • Produce first-off components and support prove-out activities alongside Production Engineering.
  • Run production batches in line with standard operating procedures and routing instructions.
  • Machine a range of materials including alloy steels, nickel-based alloys, super alloys, stainless steels and duplex alloys.
  • Interpret engineering drawings using both metric and imperial measurements.
  • Carry out in-process inspections using a variety of measuring equipment.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production Control, Inspection and Maintenance departments.
  • Utilise computer systems to load programs and record production activities.
  • Support training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all quality, health and safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced CNC Millers to join a growing manufacturing operation based in Middlesbrough.
