Job summary

Noble Recruiting is seeking an experienced CNC Miller - Setter/Operator for an established engineering company in Southend-On-Sea. The role involves setting and running 1st operations on various CNC machines, with a focus on accuracy and on-time delivery.

You will work 6:45am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, with potential for progression and training. Applicants should have at least 1 year CNC setting/operating experience, be comfortable reading drawings, and able to operate Fanuc and Seiki

Qualifications

• CNC setting & operating experience is a must (min. 1 year).
• Experience with bar feed machines is desirable.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Fanuc and Seiki controls welcomed.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set and run 1st operations safely on CNC machines.
• Support 2nd operations when required, including related tooling.
• Ensure accurate production records and clockings.
• Maintain machine efficiency to meet KPIs and on-time deliveries.
• Train junior operators when needed.

CNC MILLER

Southend-On-Sea, Essex

£30,000 TO £36,000 per annum DOE

Permanent position / Full time - 6:45am – 4:30pm Mon – Thurs

We are working with an established Engineering company who are looking to grow their team internally with new contracts and workload increase and require an experienced CNC Miller - Setter / Operator.

Job Role:

• Set and Run 1st Operations machinery safely - CNC machines including fixed head, sliding head, Lathes, turning mills and Bar feeders (including Dooson, Hardinge, Mori and Star).
• Support as required, with set and run 2nd Operations machinery safely – thread rollers, grinding, part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers and deburrers (manual/rotary etc).
• Work confidently with material from Aluminium, stainless steels and Inconel.
• Coordination of all programming and setting activities, coordinating with other existing setters.
• Carry out first-off and job run inspection of 2nd Op Machine parts.
• Adhere to all documented health and safety, with correct PPE used to perform role.
• Ensure all clockings and production records are completed accurately, and that the movement of work is recorded on the company computerised system.
• Carry out first-off buddy checks and job run inspection of 1st and 2nd Operations machine parts.
• Reduce scrap/rework reporting back efficiencies to the Production Manager.
• Maintain machine efficiency to ensure we comply with On Time Deliveries, Arrears, Parts Per Hour (PPH) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Manufacture good quality products in line with agreed standards and quality procedures.
• Complete daily maintenance check sheets and cycle timesheets.
• Ensure a safe and clean working environment is maintained at all times.
• Willing to train junior operators to develop skills, when necessary.

Person specification:

• Able to commute within or to Southend-On-Sea.
• Run, Set 1st and 2nd Ops machining tools, with some programming experience.
• Experience with bar feed machines.
• CNC setting & operating experience is a must! (min. 1 years experienced required).
• Set and Run Machines with Fanuc and Seiki controls.
• Attention to detail, including numeracy, and quality performance.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Service minded and continuous enhancement of product/service knowledge.
• Experience of working in the Automotive / Aerospace or Defence Industries is desirable.
