Job summary

HR GO Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join a long-established engineering business in Chessington, London, with a starting salary of £17–£18 per hour.

This permanent role offers a 38‑hour week, Fridays finish at 12pm, overtime opportunities, pension, life assurance and a company bonus scheme after a qualifying period. You will set and operate CNC machines, read drawings, and contribute to ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or time-served engineer with City & Guilds/BTEC level.
• Experience in precision subcontract machining/engineering.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines; programming experience an advantage.
• Machine alignments and maintaining tool offsets.
• CNC milling; turning and grinding experience a bonus.
• Work with varied components and free-issue material.
• Use hand tools and precision measuring equipment to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and processes.
• Work with minimal supervision while contributing to the team.
• Comply with H&S requirements and maintain ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.

Key responsibilities

• CNC milling (CNC turning and CNC grinding experience also a bonus)

• Using hand tools and standard measuring equipment to tight tolerances


• Reading and understanding engineering drawings/processes


• Working independently with minimal supervision; strong team contribution


• Complying with relevant H&S requirements


• Maintaining ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards throughout the process
