Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group are seeking a CNC Miller to join our client based in Cramlington. The successful candidate will machine components to route cards and technical drawings, and assist in the fitting of components where required.

In-house training will be provided. You must read and interpret engineering drawings, work with CNC mills, and comply with ISO 9001 and Health & Safety procedures while delivering quality results.

Qualifications

• Able to read, interpret and communicate engineering drawings.
• Must have or be willing to undertake in-house training.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills required.
• Planning and organisational abilities are essential.
• PC literacy and spreadsheet/reporting know-how advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Machining components in accordance with route cards and drawings.
• Assisting in fitting of components where required.
• Interpreting drawings to identify operations and tooling needs.
• Setting/operating/Programming CNC milling machines per specs.
• Determining speeds and feeds for each component.
• Positioning components into CNC machines with lifting equipment if needed.
• Measuring first-offs using verniers and micrometres for quality control.
• Ensuring work complies with ISO 9001, health and safety procedures.

THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group are seeking a CNC Miller to join our client based in Cramlington. The right candidate will be joining a global company with a proud history. They have a well established reputation and experts in their industry. An opportunity has arisen for a CNC Miller to join their team.

THE ROLE

• Machining components in accordance to the route card and technical drawings
• Assisting in the fitting of components
• Identifying the operations which need completing from the drawings issued
• Operating/setting/Programming CNC milling machines in accordance to customer specifications and company standards
• Identifying the required speeds and feeds as per each component requirement
• Correctly positioning the component into the CNC machine, with the assistance of lifting equipment if necessary(In house training will be given if no experience)
• To be responsible for your own quality; measuring first-offs before proceeding with any additional machining with hand measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometres

THE PERSON

• Previous experience with Heidenheim controls and DMU machines would be advantageous, training will be given if they have only used Siemens, Mazatrol, Fanuc etc
• Ideally with a relevant apprenticeship (or equivalent) or other qualification in engineering/ machining
• You must be able to read, interpret and communicate technical engineering drawings
• Manual handling and Overhead Crane Training/Experience not essential as in house training will be provided
• Good team working and communication skills are required
• A flexible and proactive approach to work is also required
• Must have proven team-working skills
• Planning and organisational skills are also required to ensure departmental and business objectives and deadlines are met whilst ensuring the integrity of the Company
• Good written and verbal skills are required to convey issues to your management and employees alike
• PC literate: Some knowledge of spread sheets and reporting computer systems is advantageous
