Job summary

CooperVision Limited invites applications for the Advanced Apprentice – Inserts Manufacturing in Southampton. You will join a four-year engineering apprenticeship programme focusing on CNC machining, metrology, tool making, and quality inspection while gaining nationally recognised qualifications.

You will learn to set up and operate advanced CNC machinery, produce precision tooling, and participate in continuous improvement in a highly technical environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on learning approach with strong interest in engineering and manufacturing.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a high-precision environment.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Set up, programme and operate CNC machinery and workshop equipment.
• Manufacture high-precision tooling and components to exacting standards.
• Use metrology equipment to inspect tooling and components.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving on the shop floor.
• Work safely and collaboratively to meet production and quality goals.
