Job summary

DK Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC professional to join our technical team. This field-based role involves training customers across the UK on CNC machine tools, with a focus on programming, machining and maximizing equipment capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a four-year engineering apprenticeship, strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication to build lasting customer relationships. Occasional overnight stays and nationwide travel are required.

Job description

Are you an experienced CNC machinist or programmer looking to take your career in a more customer-focused direction?

We are looking for an apprentice-trained CNC professional to join a technical team supporting customers across the UK. This role would suit someone with a strong background in CNC programming and machining who enjoys problem-solving, sharing technical knowledge and helping others get the best from their equipment.

Experience across both turning and milling would be advantageous.

Key requirements:

• A minimum four-year apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
• Proven CNC programming and machining experience.
• A confident understanding of machine tools and machining processes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to technical challenges.
• The flexibility to travel nationwide and stay away overnight when required.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver training to customers on the operation and capabilities of a range of CNC machine tools.
• Support customers in understanding their equipment and making the most of its capabilities.
• Demonstrate machinery to prospective customers and existing clients.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and help customers identify effective solutions.
• Provide applications advice and technical support when required.
• Gather customer feedback and report recurring issues to support continuous improvement.
• Recommend machining process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity and cost-effectiveness.
