Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Limited is seeking a CNC/Machinist Lecturer to join our Essex-based education team on a permanent basis, delivering both practical machining training and underpinning theory.

You will blend industry experience with teaching, helping learners develop skills and confidence. The role focuses on designing and delivering programmes across levels, with an emphasis on safe workshop practice and curriculum development.

Qualifications

• Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering.
• Ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners.
• Commitment to helping learners achieve and progress.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant Level 3 Qualification.

Responsibilities

• Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
• Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
• Bringing current industry practice and standards into your teaching.
• Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
• Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
• Monitoring learner progress and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.
• Working with colleagues to develop and keep the curriculum relevant.
