Job summary

Proactive Global in Milton Keynes is seeking a CNC Machinist (Turning) to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC lathe machines, read drawings, monitor operations, inspect finished parts and adjust settings to maintain quality.

The role offers a permanent contract with a salary of £18.00–£20.00 per hour and a 39-hour work week. Experience with Doosan multi-axis lathes and Fanuc software is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating CNC lathe machines.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings for machining requirements.
• Use of hand tools for setup and adjustments.
• Maths for precise measurements and calculations.
• Knowledge of Fanuc software and controls.
• Experience with multi-axis machines is advantageous.

Position: CNC Machinist (Turning)

Salary: £18.00 - £20.00 per hour (Permanent Contract)

Location: Milton Keynes

Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business based in Milton Keynes.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional CNC Machinist to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the site's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to perform various machining operations
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine machining requirements
• Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning
• Inspect finished components for accuracy and quality
• Make adjustments to machine settings as needed
• Maintain a clean and organised work area

Requirements

• Proficiency in operating CNC lathe machines
• Setting and Operating CNC Machines
• Ability to use hand tools effectively
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting machine issues
• Experience with materials handling and tooling
• Experience in programming Doosan 220LSY, 220, 2100L with bar feeders or other similar multi axes machines advantageous.

Skills

• Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets
• Ability to assemble and handle materials effectively
• Proficiency in basic maths for measurements and calculations
• Knowledge of Fanuc software
• Programming experience advantageous
• Competence in using hand tools for adjustments and maintenance
• Experience with milling processes is advantageous

Working Hours

Mon-Thu 08:00-17:00 - Fri 08:00-13:00

39 Hours per week.

£18.00 - £20.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)
